Though they sucked tonite, but yet again Arsenal prevailed:)
The 1st half went by without any goals, but chances after chances made by Barcelona showed their superiority over the English club. Luck seems to favour Manuel Almunia tonite when attempt by Xavi, Messi & Ibrahimovic was saved as early as a few seconds into the game, if not barely. I laughed at the fact that Almunia was in the right spot at the right time to save those shots.
The 2nd half is were the fun starts. A few seconds after the second whistle, Zlatan Ibrahimovic put in a nice lob over a careless Almunia. About 10 minutes later Ibrahimovic again put the ball pass the net, with a mighty shot. It was awesome. Then Walcott came into the picture. Substituted minutes after the 2nd goal replacing Sagna, Theo Walcott gave an awesome display. Scoring a goal and played an indirect role in the second one, where the England winger sped down the right, lifting over a cross, Bendtner’s clever header set up Fabregas. Just as the Arsenal captain was about to shoot, his legs tangled with Puyol’s and Barcelona’s leader was dismissed, leading to a penalty which the Arsenal captain took and scored. But as a team, Arsenal was clearly 2nd best.
Fabregas will be suspended for that game, having collected a first-half booking, but Arsenal will take hope from the suspensions that deprives Guardiola of his first-choice central-defensive pairing of Gerard Pique and Carles Puyol. But if Arsenal are to have any chance of overturning the odds in Catalonia then Wenger must start Walcott, whose pace and sense of adventure proved so important.
Come on Gunners, you're way better then that.
YOUR AWESOME!
